Musical FeaturesThis piece is a nice transcription of one of the most famous piano sonatas ever written. The piece is very similar in structure to its original with the only changes coming in the form of the key (for idiomatic reasons) and the added roll textures to simulate the sustain of the piano. Its structure is ABA, very common in the slow movement of classical sonatas. The harmonic and melodic structures are exact replicas of the original.
Technical FeaturesThe piece does utilize some independent rolls for sustain, but they are contained to mostly octaves and fifths on the same manual.

Double Verticals are critical to the success of this piece. Any performer must have a great control of this technique and must have great control of changing intervals anywhere from a 2nd to an octave. The rest of the music does require single independent and single alternating stroke types.
