This work is an unsung hero of the marimba quartet literature. It has not gotten its well-deserved circulation through the percussion community because it was unavailable for so long.Now available in a clearly engraved edition with single sheet 11 x 17 inch parts with a spiral-bound score.

Juilliard composition and theory faculty member Eric Ewazen has written what many consider to be "The Great American Marimba Concerto". Only time will tell if these appraisals are correct, but everyone who hears it agrees that it is a work of great beauty and excitement.

Written for Leigh Howard Stevens and She-e Wu, this jazzy piece requires two advanced players and two 5.0 octave instruments. A "must play" if you have a friend ready and willing to take on the challenge with you.
