Composed for artist-percussionist Joseph Gramley, "Black Jack" uses a small array of instruments (bass drum, 4 tom-toms and bongos), augmented by percussive vocal sounds. This is a piece that an audience is sure to enjoy!

A challenging work technically, "Choirs" also displays the multiple percussionists' musical development. The piece has the practical advantage that each movement uses a relatively small set-up, facilitating the learning/practice process.

A collection of compositions designed to provide material for the young percussionist to display his/her abilities on many of the percussion instruments required in concert band or orchestra situations.

The title is taken from the new form of USB, a high data-transfer cable which is the interface for today's digital audio and video devices (allowing the user to send more than a CD's worth of data every 10 seconds). In the piece, the performer becomes the Fire Wire, relaying information to the audience at a high rate of speed.

A major new multiple percussion piece requiring a fairly large but not horrendously enormous set-up (10 tom toms, cymbals, tam tams + a few small instruments), 'Florida Arclab' demonstrates the virtuosity and musicality of the performer in a way matched by only a handful of other multiple percussion solos. Not for the fainthearted!

Inspired by the playing of Max Roach, Sanderbeck has written an interesting and original five-movement suite which displays a drummer's finesse and control in a variety of styles. Great choice for a jury or recital!

Third prize winner in the 2000 PAS Composition Contest, 'Isorhythmic Concerto' is scored for the three families of non-pitched percussion; wood, metal and skins.

In the words of the composer, "Latin Journey" was written for and dedicated to Wes Griffin for his senior recital at Texas Wesleyan University in Ft. Worth. When I offered to write a piece for Wes for his senior recital, he asked me if I would write a multiple percussion solo for him."

For solo percussion and computer-generated sounds, this piece explores a variety of timbres, meters, and rhythmic juxtapositions with a fairly modest set-up of 3 metallic membranes, roto-toms, 2 toms, bongos, a concert pedal bass drum, and chuan bo.
