Titled after the Walt Whitman poem, Burritt wrote Clear Midnight for the Escape X Percussion Duo to showcase their dynamic virtuosity. Although it’s a marimba duet, it includes various percussion instruments including concert toms and ribbon crashers.

The inaugural work of “The Jonathan Singer Historical Xylophone Publication Series”, Singer transcribes and arranges a 1920’s recording of Billy Gladstone playing this medley with the Capitol Theatre Orchestra.
