BILL RICE - JAMES MADISON UNIVERSITY PERCUSSION

The James Madison School of Music percussion program includes percussion studio, percussion ensemble and drumline.

The percussion studio has a nationwide reputation for excellence in performance. The percussion ensemble has performed at conventions in Chicago, Knoxville, Tenn., Washington, D.C., and Norfolk, Va. In 1990, the ensemble presented a spotlight concert at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention in Philadelphia.

The percussion studio is led by Professor William Rice. The JMU percussion studio's instrument collection includes six new Malletech marimbas.
