Becker’s performing experience spans nearly all of the musical disciplines where percussion is found.

Caution: Ear worm! If you listen to the audio recording (available here), you will have difficulty getting it out of your head. Yurika Kimura, soloist, with Becker, Burritt, Stevens and Stout accompanying.
From the program notes by Bob Becker:

Although I have arranged and performed a great many pieces from the novelty era of 1920s popular music, this is my first composition in that style. Cottontail Capers was written in 2009 at the request of marimbist and xylophonist Yurika Kimura, to whom it is dedicated with admiration and playful affection. The premiere performance was given by Ms. Kimura on November 20, 2009 at the Ogaki Concert Hall in Gifu, Japan.

“Any ragtime specialist will want to learn Bob’s first crack at composing in the style that has made him so famous. I bet we see more out of him along this line—or at least I hope so.”
