This piece was commissioned by the Symblema Percussion Group (France) which asked me to write a short 4.3 octave marimba composition. The theme of this project was “South America,” so I decided to use Latin rhythms such as the salsa. The structure of this piece is built as a Choro (ABA). It is a very fun piece to play and the difficulty of it requires an intermediate level of playing. – Eric Sammut
