Grand Overture was originally a major work for guitar. Now that it has been transcribed, it represents a major work for us as well. Giuliani’s huge contribution to guitar music is standard repertoire for guitarists world-wide. This transcription remains true to the original in both key and pitch and employs numerous advanced four-mallet techniques. If you are looking for a well-written grand show piece, this is it!

Scored in A minor, the familiar “Greensleeves” takes the performer through two verses of the short, 47-measure composition. This arrangement would be appropriate for the intermediate-level keyboard percussionist.- Percussive Notes

A four-mallet marimba solo arranged from the song by Ethelbert Nevin in the classic style of Sammy Herman. Fairly easy technically, but stylistically tricky.

Puccini “a la Sammut” makes for a delightful dish! In this beautiful arrangement, Sammut uses the singing characteristics of the marimba to bring out the simple, lyrical elements of Puccini’s famous opera.

A classic addition to any marimbist’s repertoire. The prelude is a virtuosic showpiece, and the three-voiced fugue highlights the separation of each voice by using different mallet types.

It is assumed that each numbered opus from Clair Omar Musser consisted of 20 pieces, but there is no surviving evidence of them now. The version of Opus 11, Number 3, published in 1948, had some issues with the chords and expression markings. I made some corrections and consistencies in this new edition, but I tried to keep Musser’s notation intact as much as possible. -Yurika Kimura
