Warrior from the Deep

$40.00$44.00

One vibraphone, three players, six movements, 15 minutes … I must admit this didn’t seem enticing at first; however Jonathan Kolm creates some very nice moments by utilizing various performance techniques. The selected techniques create wonderful changes in timbre and definitely provide a much-needed contrast for the ear of the listener.
– Jason Baker, Percussive Notes

Water Marks

$10.00$11.00

Written on a flight while traveling to Asia, Miceli wanted to compose a difficult yet lyrical piece for solo vibraphone. The resulting “Water Marks” is so named because it is reminiscent of drops of rain splashing as they fall into a puddle.

Watermusic

$13.00$14.00

This is an exciting composition for vibraphone- one that would make an excellent choice for a senior recital. The piece may be played in its entirety, but the composer also gives recommended combinations of movements to be played if the performer chooses.

Well-Tempered Marimbist, Book II

$20.00$22.00

It’s called the “Well-Tempered Marimbist”, because each of the pieces is in a different key, like Bach’s “Well-Tempered Clavier”. Each piece was written with specific musical and technical challenges in mind.

Whatever’s More

$10.00$11.00

This 5.0-octave marimba solo, while not full of Stout’s customary intricacies and technical challenges, is intensely poetic and passionate – a performance challenge in and of itself. The nature of the piece is that of a lullaby. With a quarter-note pulse that is woven throughout, the music has a lilting and rocking quality.

This marimba part to this version is exactly the same as the original for solo marimba (2010). There are now additional string parts (two violins, viola, and cello) to accompany this solo. An even more beautiful version of one of Stout’s most beautiful compositions.

Xpu-Ha Experiment

$40.00

Pronounced “shpoo-ha”, this work is a very aggressive, rhythmic, drumming ensemble for 4 percussionists. At times played barbarically and savagely, Xpu-Ha Experiment is written in the form of a tribal dance. It will undoubtedly prove to be a very intense 7-minute experience for the players and audience alike.
